Ann in charge of the camera today as friends gather for a walk up Hen Comb. This is the start of the Easter and everyone is up for the holidays. Daniel, David and Ian - with the pink hand of Jayne to the right. The walk passed Kirkhead Farm just as Chris Todd was moving some sheep. The route to Hen Comb leaves the main Mosedale track and crosses the beck at the stepping stones. Harry takes the wet route, Mark confidently strides the stones, but Megan is a little more concerned at the possibility of getting wet. As you walk the ridge the view of the high fells gradually opens to reveal the High Stile Ridge and Fleetwith Pike. Hen Comb is a gradually rising ridge with a sting in the tail. Just as you were enjoying the soft moorland path, there's a fence and it's uphill all the way to the top ! Daniel and Cory are racing ahead, half way up already, along with our dogs Harry and Bethan. Mark chats to Megan and Cory, while Dad surveys the view. The start of a group hug at the summit ? Jayne's side, Ian's back, David's back and Mark's back I tried turning the photo back to front but they still didn't face the camera ! Today's weather reflects the continuing steady high pressure that has blessed the Lakes this Easter. Time to start back, Bethan and Harry race for the way down.
Back at the stepping stones, Cory pauses mid stream . . .
