Time to wish you all a merry Christmas and a Happy new Year as we conclude the run up to the festive period with a selection of seasonal pictures from recent days. Greetings from Keswick . . . as seen in one of the local art galleries. - - - o o o - - - A lunchtime stroll to Derwent Water . . .
The Boat Landings at Derwent Water. The famous Catbells outline in slight silhouette on the opposite side of the lake. Causey Pike (signature outline in centre) as seen by the seagulls and ducks down at the water's edge. Time to be heading back to work.
With the days drawing in it was usually dark as I left work. Here the view from Fisher's window, a view taken at dusk (mid to late afternoon) Truly dark as we close at the end of the day. - - - o o o - - - Time for a short stroll around town to enjoy the Christmas lights.
The Moot Hall and the square outside Barclays Bank. Fine lights on the Skiddaw Hotel. The Moot Hall from lower down the square.
Bryson's Bakery and Tearooms always has a lovely Christmas window.
All ready for the big day ahead. The Keswick Rotary ~ Tree of Light ~ - - - o o o - - - Back in Loweswater and Buttermere it is time for two nights of carol singing collecting money for the NSPCC.
- - - o o o - - - This week I drove over to Cockermouth for a special event . . . They have great lights and have bounced back after another difficult trading year as the road works in main street stopped traffic for far too many months during spring and summer 2014. [ Hold your cursor over the picture to take yourself back in time] Full marks all round as the town regains its holiday atmosphere . . . this is Station Street. At the top of the road another Mountain Rescue Base . . . . . . and I have a five o'clock appointment today. The sale of the Loweswatercam Calendar 2015 has raised £375
for Mountain Rescue charities again this year. With a pound from every
copy sold, we have again been able to help out two of the local Lake
District rescue teams, namely Cockermouth and Duddon & Furness. - - - o o o - - - It just remains to say . . .
Thanks for joining Ann and myself through the year in person or through the pages of our site. - - - o o o - - - |
